My experience as a volunteer for the last conference of writers MWA is appropriate and educational.

Literary Agent

They are the best people. Yes you heard me, the author, they rock. They work very hard to put in tons of overtime, and still do all the time. Most of them, that I have met personally during the recruitment process I have experienced sellers. You know how people can individual sales, adventurous, and passionate about what they sell – a literary agent as just that.

These people are great to read over 100 submissions a week – on their own time. On weekdays, they manage their sponsors have been signed, sold their pitch meetings where writers to editors, call and get in touch publishing tons of documents.

Yes, and they do not pay the conference, which runs at the weekend – it is their own time. You know what else – every author that agents come into contact with, they are encouraging them, answering their questions, and praised the contacts.

They have specific guidelines to achieve a piece of work and they can not decide what their specialty. This is more than one job for them, they love books they love the author, and they love their job – that’s why they stick with it and give 200% for his efforts in this direction. Finally, some fatigue, and left the field for a career easier would be much appreciated. Would not you if you are a bad person to a client that you are looking for help?

Editors

Beautiful people “man / woman, who insisted that the work of agents send them. They need to come up with really support the publisher to add this text to your list. In addition, they spend their free time to read, edit and work with authors to a manuscript in a format that will be obtained from the publisher. You know what else … they work just as hard as Lit Agent, and burn quickly. Recently, they have a double burden because of layoffs and reductions in publishers, whichever is greater.

Benefits of Conference

Well, if I may toot my horn here – I’ll do it. Strictly by chance, I would ask that all applicants are scheduled for court hearings and to submit a request letter to the first five pages of them. Both the agent and editor told me that they appreciate the opportunity to read ahead. I was told that other conferences do not get to preview the letter or manuscript request of those who came to give their romance. What! Yes, you heard me. So a writer who participated in the conference this year, special attention.

Pitch Session

I know what you think – why should I pay for it when I was only able to mail them my feed. Trust me – it’s sooooooo worth the money. Agents and editors with whom I work, I confess, to read over 100 submissions a week of their spare time. Is not it better to get one on one time with an agent and I know that they read your stuff before they meet you? I believe as an agent to read a sample authors before the event, several people from the conference we were asked to send a few inches of Wow! Many other writers have their questions answered, get a quick critique of your manuscript and a complete and absolute attention to how you can defend their work.

You know something else – some people even offered to create a platform, the book itself – first published, and find someone to clean your manuscript for submission.

Nuggets to work with

The meeting is sure to be done, step sessions, too – but be prepared, PRACTICE FIRST, and if possible, send your request to the conference organizers and asked to send your luggage ahead of time. Also, bring your printed representation of the event. You never know what could be the opportunity knocking at your door.
